A purposefully planned  learning and caring environment  can make a great difference in the educarer-infant relationship and the relationships between the children in the group.  33 educarers and centre principals recently completed a two-day course with KLC International Institute to learn how to create well-designed environments that support holistic development and learning for infants and toddlers.

“The Learning and Caring Environment for Infants” is an ECDA endorsed, 9 hrs CPD programme designed to equip participants to use their understanding of infant development to tailor a responsive environment for them in group care. It covers setting up empowering play spaces for sensorial and movement experiences, managing changes in the environment for the developing needs of infants, and evaluating the effectiveness of the learning and caring environment for infants.

Overall, it also gave the participants the opportunity to discuss and explore ways to raise the quality of services for infants, toddlers, and their family members.

The course was concluded with sharing of the participants’ evaluations and findings, and feedback/recommendations for changes.
