When she was young, Delicia Ang had a nanny who looked after her and some other children. The nanny’s dedication to their wellbeing was etched deep in her mind. So, after completing her Diploma in Engineering & Business, Delicia did not hesitate to venture into early childhood education for her career.
“My genuine love for children and the influence of my nanny drove me towards this profession,” she said.

Delicia started as an assistant to a form teacher at Bright Kids School House in 2012. She attended the “WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education” course at KLCII in March 2012 and graduated the next year.

She said the course modules such as Child Development and Learning, Curriculum Planning and Pedagogy have helped her tremendously as a preschool teacher.
“The lectures provided me with the knowledge to apply management strategies and develop effective lesson plans for my children,” she said.

Her most memorable experience was when a parent sent her a long thank you note outlining how Delicia had effectively groomed her child in the two kindergarten years.
“This touched me very much as the mother noticed the little things that I had done for her child,” Delicia added.
A believer in continuing professional development, Delicia subsequently acquired a degree in early childhood education. In 2022, she completed a diploma in leadership to further reinforce her leadership skills and capabilities.
