KLCII held its first Open House on Early Childhood careers at its newly renovated Ang Mo Kio Campus on 1 March 2024, primarily targeting mid-career job seekers.
KLCII lecturers were present to welcome attendees and walk them through various preschoolers’ activity corners set up to let them experience firsthand what an early childhood educator’s job would entail. Attendees had the opportunity to examine various play and learning materials used to nurture the young at the infant care, nursery and kindergarten levels.

KLCII course consultants were also out in force to brief attendees on the various WSQ training courses available, from fundamentals to advanced certificate, through diploma to degree, advising attendees on the courses most suitable for them based on their individual circumstances.

The WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education – Teaching (Conversion), designed to prepare mid-career aspirants to become preschool teachers, attracted the most interest at the Open House. The career conversion course enables trainees to become qualified preschool teachers with only 16 months of training (including practicum). Successfully employed trainees under the CCP will also receive monthly salary and course sponsorship from their employer under a bond agreement.
Skool4Kidz, a government-appointed preschool anchor operator, also had representatives present at the Open House to share with visitors employment opportunities, working conditions and career advancement prospects in the early childhood sector.
