More students from high schools in Johor, Malaysia, who attended the KLCII Early Childhood Education & Care (ECCE) Open House on 19 January 2019, have enrolled for training to become preschool teachers.

In year 2018, Five students from Johor High Schools five have been successfully shortlisted and enrolled for the WSQ Professional Diploma in ECCE at KLCII. They are all students from Foon Yew High School and Chinese Independent High School in Malaysia.

As the start of 2019, KLCII once again brought in a batch of fresh UEC graduates and their parents from Malaysia to attend the KLCII Open House event in Singapore. During their visit, students and their parents were introduced to the Place and Train Scheme. The scheme provides conditional employment offer for the student before embarking on their Early Childhood training programme at the Open House at KLCII.

During the event, interview sessions was also carried out by Skool4kidz Preschool. Students also have the opportunity to find out more about the Early Childhood learning environment and view the art and craft work done by current students.

KLCII had for the last two years been promoting the place and train scheme to Johor high schools to support recruitment efforts to attract more potential preschool teachers for the early childhood sector in Singapore.  Currently, five Foon Yew graduates are studying for the diploma at KLCII.
