KLC International Institute (KLCII) was represented at the UNITE 2026 Conference, organised by the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) on 25 and 26 June 2026, with KLCII Consultant and Trainer Ms Irene Ong conducting two sharing sessions focused on inclusive practices in early childhood education.

With more than 20 years of experience in the early childhood sector, Irene shared practical insights drawn from her experience as an educator, principal, cluster head, operations manager, consultant and trainer.

Her first presentation, “Every Child · Every Teacher: A Ground-Up Advocacy for Valuing All,” introduced the Every Child · Every Teacher (ECET) framework. The session explored how inclusive early childhood communities can be strengthened by valuing both children and educators, supporting teacher wellbeing, building stronger parent partnerships and fostering collaboration across the wider education ecosystem.
Drawing from real-world early childhood practice, Ms Irene Ong shared how belonging and inclusion can be intentionally nurtured in the classroom.
In her second session, “From Belonging to Engagement: Executive Function as a Pathway to Inclusive Early Childhood Classrooms,” Irene highlighted how a child’s sense of belonging can support participation and deeper engagement in learning. She also shared how executive function skills such as working memory, inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility can be nurtured through structured routines, visual prompts and positive behaviour support.
