The first talk on mindset change organised by KLCII on 21 November 2019 attracted 42 principals and centre leaders from 27 preschool and child care centres.

The subject “Change Your Mindset. Change Your Results” was especially relevant in the face of constant developments in the preschool landscape in Singapore. Nowadays, centre leaders and principals are expected to play an increasingly important role in ensuring delivery of the highest possible standard of care and education for the young.

“Change Your Mindset. Change Your Results” talk was delivered by Ms Susan Lim

Participants were brought through a journey to understand various types of thoughts and mindsets and their impact on personal development and growth. They were told of the necessity to shift from a “fixed mindset” to a “growth mindset” to become better leaders.

The difference between ideals and realities were explained and participants were introduced to 10 principles for “growth mindset”, including the need to learn from experience, to be innovative and customer centric.

Held at KLCII, the 3-1/2 hours talk was delivered by Ms Susan Lim, a lecturer of the Master of Arts and the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programmes at the National Institute of Education (NIE). Holder of a Master of Education from the University of Melbourne, she has been an educator and trainer with over 20 years working with young adults, adults and professionals.

Every attendee was presented with a KLCII certificate of attendance.
