Over the years, KLC International Institute’s (KLCII) academic team has consistently shared best practices and experiences at various local and international forums. This year, two of our senior academics were once again invited to speak at the Goodstart SG Early Childhood Conference, at the Suntec City Convention Centre on 27 September 2024.

With the theme “The Power of Collaboration,” the premier event brought together hundreds of early childhood education professionals, thought leaders, and innovators to exchange ideas aimed at elevating the quality of preschool education in Singapore.

Dr Chen Shi, Vice Principal for Chinese Programmes, and Mr Ling Jian, Head of Chinese Programmes, each delivered presentations during the Chinese language breakout sessions.

Dr Chen Shi’s presentation, titled “Preschool Education and Renewing Oneself,” addressed the importance of self-care and professional development for teachers to remain consistently primed to give their best in the classroom for the holistic growth of their students. She highlighted how the preschool education profession significantly shapes the future of young children.

She encouraged attendees to ardently and judiciously pursue lifelong learning, reminding them that maintaining physical health is essential for sustained teaching performance.

Mr Ling’s session, titled “How AI Can Promote the Creative Thinking of Children in Inclusive Classes”. He explained that AI can be highly effective when implemented with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as it can create learning experiences tailored to the diverse needs and strengths of all students, enabling them to fully participate in the learning process.

By incorporating multiple modes of participation, presentation, and expression, educators can provide all children with equal educational opportunities to cultivate and develop the skills they need to grow and succeed in society, he said.

In line with this commitment to enhancing early childhood education, KLCII offers a diverse range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses designed to empower early childhood educators in refining their skills and deepening their understanding of the latest teaching strategies.
