This course is to train teachers on the basic theory of Chinese teaching, teaching methods and Chinese Language development under the guidance of Singapore’s teaching Chinese characteristics as a second language.

This course grooms Chinese Teachers with the potentials in higher Chinese Language and help to achieve a better understanding in Chinese Language basics and culture.

This course consist of:

  • Classroom Hours: 460 Hours


  • 10 months (Full-time)
  • 15 months (Part-time)


  • Lecture, Group discussion, small group activities, workshops, role plays, presentations, demonstrations & practicum

Award of Certificate

Upon successful completion of coursework and examination, and a minimum of 80% attendance, students will be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Chinese Language Teaching (Mandarin) by KLC International Institute.

  • Aged 16 and above AND
  • 10 years of formal education OR Nitec/Higher Nitec OR 5 GCE “O” Level credits (at least C6) AND

Possess ONE of the following language entry requirements:

  • At least a Grade C6 in Chinese at GCE “O” Level OR
  • A Pass in Chinese Language in Year 10 High School Qualification OR
  • HSK 6 OR
  • Chinese Placement Test conducted by KLCII
Course Fess $6,826.60
Course fees stated are inclusive of prevailing GST and are in Singapore dollars. Students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $85.60 (local students), $288.90 (international students) upon course sign-up.
Medical Insurance coverage of $42.80 (per year) is mandatory for international students.
