This is a basic course on the theory and methods of teaching the Chinese language. It has been developed in accordance with guidelines for teaching Chinese as a second language.
It has been designed to groom teachers to achieve a better understanding of Chinese Language basics and culture, and prepare them for higher level achievement in Chinese language teaching.

Assessment
- Lecture, Group discussion, small group activities, workshops, role plays, presentations, demonstrations & practicum
Award of Certificate
Upon successful completion of the course, and a minimum of 80% attendance, students will be awarded with the Specialist Diploma in Chinese Language Teaching (Mandarin) by KLC International Institute.
- Aged 16 and above AND
- Completed 10 years of formal education or equivalent AND
ONE of the following Chinese language requirement:
- At least a Grade C6 in Chinese at GCE “O” Level OR
- A Pass in Chinese Language in Year 10 High School Qualification OR
- HSK 6 OR
- Chinese Placement Test conducted by KLCII

Course fees stated are inclusive of prevailing GST and are in Singapore dollars. Students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $85.60 (local students), $288.90 (international students) upon course sign-up.
Medical Insurance coverage of $64.20 (per year) is mandatory for international students.
