As its contribution to SkillsFuture Month, KLCII hosted an industry sharing and networking session on 6 August 2021 to provide insights into the Early Childhood (EC) sector for job seekers from other industries.
During the two-hour virtual session via Zoom, the participants learned about Career Perspectives on Early Childhood. Ms Michelle Koh Siew Yong and Ms Rohaidah binte Ayob from KLCII Academic Team, spoke about developments in the EC sector. They also touched on the role of a preschool teacher and the qualities/attributes necessary for one to become good at the job, as well as the career options and pathways available to them.
Following that, Ms Lorna Poon, KLCII’s Corporate Sales Manager, made a presentation on the Professional Conversion Programmes (PCP) and certification courses available, including place-and-train opportunities for preschool educarers and teachers.
Ms Rayney Teo, Manager at Workforce Singapore, introduced the attendees to the SGUnited suite of programmes and services, including course funding, that can help job seekers at different stages of their career.
The KLCII sharing and networking session was presented in partnership with Mendaki’s SENSE, SkillsFuture SG, WSG and SG Jobs.
