The Fundamentals Certificate in Infant Care (FCIC) course introduces students to the foundational principles of infant care and development, guided by the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) developed by ECDA. Students will gain an understanding of how children from birth to below 18 months grow, learn, and develop within nurturing and responsive relationships.
Emphasizing the educaring approach and EYDF’s guiding principles, this course helps students connect theory with practice in the Singapore early childhood context. Students will learn to create secure, respectful, and stimulating environments that promote infants’ holistic development, while assisting in routine caregiving and transition activities.
