In May 2008, the Ministry of Social and Family Development crafted a guideline for child care centre providing care and services for children with special needs. The objective is to maximise the potential of children with special needs in an inclusive learning environment.

This workshop allows participants to learn how to adapt and modify teaching strategies to provide for the educational and social needs for all children, especially those with special education needs/diverse abilities. The workshop is comprehensive in scope and is based upon best practice in the field of education.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Be motivated and passionate about successful inclusion of children with special needs and diverse abilities
  • Gain understanding of young children’s perceptions
  • Acquire knowledge on ‘The Giftedness vs. Disability’ Paradigm
  • Learn strategies to meet children’s diverse needs and to discuss teaching techniques
