This part-time course is offered by The University of Warwick, UK and eligible applicants who need to obtain advanced standing for articulation to the final year (Level 3) of the Warwick BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Care & Education (Top-Up).This course is specially designed to cover equitable course work and formal assessments equivalent to Level 2 of Warwick degree for holders of WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education/Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching or the WSQ Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education/Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Leadership (accredited by SSG and ECDA).

For Graduates of the WSQ Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education/Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Leadership (Route A Entry)

  • Bridging Module 1: Birth to Eight Years
  • Bridging Module 2: Policy, Principles, Practice and Play

For Graduates of the WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education/Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (Route B Entry)

  • Module 1: Current Trends, Issues and Research in Early Childhood Care and Education
  • Module 2: Issues in Special Education
  • Module 3: Designing Curriculum for Diversity
  • Module 4: Planning for Learning in Cooperative and Integrated Contexts
  • Module 5: Assessment and Evaluation in Early Childhood Contexts
  • Module 6: Action Research Project
  • Bridging Module 1: Birth to Eight Years

WSQ Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Route A Entry) Bridging Modules

This is a 3-months part-time programme taught by lecturers from The University of Warwick on an intensive block teaching. Pre-course study guide and reading materials will be distributed to students prior to commencement of class for their course preparation.

WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Route B Entry) Top-Up Modules

This is a 12 months part-time programme taught by a mixture of KLC International Institute faculty and lecturers from The University of Warwick on an intensive block teaching mode.

Assessment

A combination of assignments and examination.

Award of Certificate

Upon completion of the course, successful candidates will be awarded the Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education by The University of Warwick.

All fees stated are inclusive of prevailing GST and are in Singapore dollars. Students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $85.60 upon course sign-up.

Course fees are inclusive of course handbooks and study materials issued by the University. The costs of recommended textbooks will be borne by students.

Note: This course is not accredited by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA). Graduates who wish to work in the local early childhood sector will need to submit an application to ECDA for Teacher Registration via a preschool. Approval by ECDA will be subjected to the applicant meeting the requirements for Teacher Registration.
