Creative thinking is crucial for improving the quality of early childhood education as it can help preschool teachers to transform ideas and insights for practical application in the classroom. Teachers will benefit from the ability to solve complex problems and act to help improve children’s learning, and at the same time boost their very own personal growth.
The finer aspects of creative thinking in preschool teaching was shared by Dr Chen Shi, Vice Principal of KLC International Institute, in a keynote speech at the PCF North West Learning Festival 2018 held at the Nee Soon South Community Club on 13 March 2018.
Dr Chen Shi, who has a PhD in education management and arts from Jinan University, China and more than 20 years of teacher training experience, was the only Chinese keynote speaker invited for the event. She spoke on “Creative Thinking and Professional Growth for Chinese Language Teachers” which was specially organised for the Chinese Language teachers of PCF.
The theme of the learning festival was “Igniting EQ Empowering Growth”. Both the Chinese and English sessions were opened by Ms Tan Lee Jee, Senior Director, Preschool Services, PCF.
