Graduating students from Chinese Independent High school in Malaysia have expressed interest in taking up preschool teaching in Singapore as a career, after attending the career talk conducted by KLCII on early childhood employment opportunities in Singapore.

A delegation from KLC International Institute (KLCII), led two reputable Childcare operators,  Kinderland and Skool4kidz Preschool to interview the graduating students of 2017 at Foon Yew High School in Johor, the largest Chinese Independent High School in Malaysia, on 4 August 2017.

A group of 45 students who attended the presentation were briefed by Kinderland and Skool4kidz on the duties of a preschool teacher, the working environment and employment conditions, as well as the prospective remunerations. KLCII also gave the students an overview of the training course they would have to undergo and the terms and conditions of their study.

It was the first time KLCII, as a teacher training institution, collaborated with childcare operators in Singapore to conduct career talks and recruitment fair within the school premises Some 30 students attended the presentation registered their interest and will undergo an assessment interview in November, after they have completed their final exams. The successful applicants will be offered job and they will undergo a training programme at KLCII to acquire the necessary qualifications prior to commencement of their employment.

Foon Yew High School was identified for this first joint teacher recruitment effort because of its large student cohort of 5,000, of which 600 who will be graduating this year.
