Introduction
The International Chinese Early Childhood Teacher Training Program is developed by experts in Chinese language instruction and early childhood education, reflecting the latest standards in teaching Chinese to young learners.
It is a collaboration between Chinese Testing International, Beijing and Crestar Education Group’s subsidiary KLC International Institute, Singapore.
Its goal is to provide all Chinese language teachers with the proficiency standards necessary to help our young learners with Chinese language acquisition and development.
KLC International Institute,

KLC International Institute (KLCII) is a private educational institution in Singapore with over 35 years of experience in early childhood teacher training. To date, we have trained more than 30,000 new early childhood educators in Singapore and the surrounding region.
Since 1995, KLCII has also been a longstanding academic partner of Beijing Normal University, China, focusing on Chinese early childhood education. Additionally, KLCII has conducted an International Chinese early childhood education research project, approved by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation.
KLCII plays a crucial role in international early childhood education in the region, having organized numerous conferences on International Chinese language education.

The Experts

Dr Chen Shi
Dr Chen Shi has more than 20 years of Chinese teacher training experience and has served as a standing secretary of Zhuhai Family Education Association and secretary of GuangDong Preschool Education Professional Association. She is also a member of the China Preschool Education Research Association and an executive committee member of the Singapore Association for Early Childhood Educators (AECES).
An expert in early childhood Chinese language education, Dr Chen Shi has contributed several influential articles in several publications in China.

Ling Jian
Mr. Ling Jian is a registered International examiner for the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi certification programme, official Standard Chinese proficiency test in China. He holds a Master of Education Administration degree from National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
He is a senior curriculum developer and Chinese language training instructor Mr. Ling had spent more than 10 years in teaching and in education administration management at various China universities.
Hou Jing
Hou Jing, holds master degrees of both Early Childhood Education and Computer Science, has over a decade of experience training Chinese early childhood teachers. In the recent years, she was often honorably invited by Singapore Early Childhood Development Agency, National Library Board and MediaCorp as speaker and workshop presenter for Early Childhood Education Conferences to share her insights on teaching Chinese in an early childhood setting.
Course Synopsis
The International Chinese Early Childhood Teacher Training Program is established based on research into professional skills standards for teaching Chinese language to younger learners.
This programme is designed to equip educators with a comprehensive understanding of both early childhood care and Chinese language education. This will enhance their ability to teach Chinese effectively in an international early childhood education context.
Its goal is to enable educators to deliver the highest standards of Chinese language instruction to young children in their early years.

Language requirements
For Non-Chinese native speaking teachers, this teacher training programme requires a minimum Chinese language proficiency of HSK 6 or equivalent.
