KLCII’s Chinese EC diploma programme has hit the 100-intake mark in 2019. Thanks to the increase in parents’ interest to prepare their young children well for the Chinese language and an accompanying rise in the number of aspiring early childhood (EC) Chinese language teachers.

KLCII’s 100th intake students from WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Chinese)

With the latest intake, KLCII has trained over 4000 students in its Chinese EC diploma course.

KLCII’s Chinese early childhood  diploma programme was first developed in 1995, when it partnered with Beijing Normal University (BNU) to offer a joint Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) diploma. It had an inaugural intake of 43 students.

The joint-diploma programme was then accredited by the MCD and was the first overseas academic programme to be recognised by the  Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China for its high standard and quality.

Today, KLC International Institute is an approved training organisation of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) offering a wide range of training programmes that are accredited by ECDA.

The current WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Chinese) conducted by KLCII is available part time (30 months) and full time (18 months).

By the end of 2018, the KLCII’s Chinese diploma and the BNU degree programme had trained more than 1,000 graduates and some 600 of them have since been officially accepted as alumni of the University in China.

Besides the Chinese diploma, KLCII offers three other English diploma courses in ECCE, namely the WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Childcare) and International Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education.
